DESCRIPTION
Large tramp art box and lid likely dating from around 1900 and probably made in the USA.  Tramp art is a form of folk art generally identified by the layered wood construction with notched edges. Generally made from cigar or packing boxes, most examples are dark brown in colour but this one is unusual as it has been painted in polychrome including some pin striping.  The interior has been lined in cotton fabric and decorated with cigar box labels.

CONDITION
There is some paint loss, chips to some corners and the lining is worn in a couple of places - Please look very closely at the pictures as they form part of the description.
