DESCRIPTION

Discovered in the Cotswold’s this original World War 1 period money box was made to encourage the collection of funds for the war effort.  This example; number 119 is modelled on the mark IV male tank “OLD BILL” and there is one in the collection of The Tank Museum and can be seen on their website tank100.  The real OLD BILL was sent to Birmingham in December 1917 to promote the sale of war bonds & savings certificates and this money box was probably made around the same time.  This example is complete and retains some of its original paint – a great and rare collectors and decorative piece.
