DESCRIPTION
Rare Hembe monkey mask within a woven basket with a boarder of bird feathers. 20th century; made by the Hemba peoples of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Comes with display stand but can also be hung on a wall.
Provenance – From the Andrzej von Staranburg Niedenthal collection, London, UK. Andrzej was an art collector and dealer; this piece comes from the sale of his estate. Letter of provenance included.
DIMENSIONS – Approximately 30cm in diameter including feathers.
WEIGHT – 0.3kg without stand.
CONDITION
A little dirty and some minor wear consistent with its age - please look very closely at the pictures as they form part of the description.
