DESCRIPTION

Scarce antique tin lithographed clockwork toy beetle by Carl Adam, Germany (company logo shown just above the head). Once wound it walks along and the wings move up and down. Marked with ‘D.R PATENT 18360’ & ‘USA PATENT 53860’ to the legs.

WEIGHT – 60g

CONDITION

It has damage and wear consistent with its age and use including wear and fading to the colour and the lower half of both middle legs are missing. The clockwork mechanism does work but lacks the strength to make the beetle walk - please look very closely at the pictures as they form part of the description.
