This beautiful and very unusual Victorian paperweight is made from brass with a hand-blown glass sphere on the top.  Around the middle runs an embossed copper frieze featuring a harness racing scene.  Likely made in England in the late 19th century.

DIMENSIONS – H:  8cm D:  9cm

WEIGHT – 0.5Kgs

CONDITION

There is wear and some tarnishing consistent with its age and some cracking to the brass where the glass sphere is held in (although this remains firmly in place).  The glass, being hand blown, has some imperfections and is lightly marked and scratched in numerous places.  The underside has a patch of relatively deep scratching  - please look very closely at the pictures as they form part of the description.
